Re: Forum seems dead

I agree as well. Messages are not retained/searchable in useful manners, the organization is highly lacking, etc. If you want to use Discord as well, that's fine, but Discord is not an acceptable replacement for the support forum, IMO.

Re: Cylinder Mapping Issues

Do you have any link/reference for the past discussion where they said it wasn't fixable?

Given the nature of the issue, saying it "cannot be fixed" doesn't make much sense.

Re: Thoughts on the latest update

align horizontally means they are all on the same (x) position, which is correct, I know it looks confusing :) Sorry, but I'm with the others on this: To "align horizontally" is to align (place in a line) horizontally (parallel to the horizon). You're misinterpreting the definition of "horizontally".

So is there any sort of ETA for this fix's release in an update?

The dark Milk v2 works really well thus far, and is MUCH easier on eyes. Thanks!

It's April, any news yet?

The last update was in Dec 2016, and we've been told for months of a "big patch coming soon". Any news on this? ETA? I'm starting to feel like the communication regarding Cycles4D isn't up to the usual "X-Particles"/Insydium standard, when it comes to keeping customers informed about issues and gene...

Re: Displacement Noise Edges

Unfortunately Cycles will produce jagged edges when using sharp inputs for displacements. We are currently not able to avoid that as it is already a problem of Blender Cycles Core. Is there any sort of Cycles core fix underway/planned for resolving this issue? Is there any ETA associated with same?...

Re: Update scheduling?

It would definitely be useful if you guys could post an update notice in Announcements each time an update is released (along with change list). That would provide customers with an easy method to tell if we have the latest version/revision -- right now, there doesn't appear to be an easy place to g...

Re: Update scheduling?

If anyone is having problems with Cycles 4D please contact our Technical Support or submit a bug report from within Cycles 4D. Thanks. Hmm, seems like quite a few of us have reported and cross-confirmed (at least in these forums) a number of fairly serious issues already (high-repro-incidence crash...

Update scheduling?

Guys, Any way you can give us some sort of rough notion how far off the next update is, major contents (fix-wise), etc.? Also, are y'all willing to state any intentions for number of updates per year to expect, and whether you're expecting to release new versions every year, two years, or...? Thanks...

+1 to both of these, but I'd particularly appreciate #2, scrolling through "giant pull-downs" is extra-annoying.

Switch node editor views from horiz (L/R) to vert (U/D) stacking

I mentioned this in another thread, but wanted to stick it in "Wishlist" as a placeholder as well. Issue: Node flows tend to be left-to-right horizontal in nature, due to input/output locations, etc. The "Node Editor" window, however, contains two panes (node view, node property view) which are situ...

I'm just bumping this because it seems like it would solve a number of other recent UX issues w.r.t. node editing.

Re: Couple of quick notes about Cycles 4D

Cheers, that's what I needed. The 'CPU' and 'Cuda' options work, none of the OpenCL ones do. I'm pretty sure that's because your Nvidia card isn't supported for OpenCL in Nvidia's drivers. Obviously, though, better Cycles4D error catching/reporting is also needed for CUDA and OpenCL failure cases (...
