Re: Cylinder Mapping Issues

I had the same issue a while back, nothing can be done to fix it in cycles.
The only thing you can do is to bake the texture without cycles, then you can use the texture in cycles.

bug

I found a bug,
When the real-time preview is running and I switch from my perspective mode in the viewport to another view it freezes.
If I turn the preview off it is no problem and it won't crash.

Re: cycles occupies my whole computer

I have tried that option and experimented with the amount of threads. I have a 16core machine, so 32 threads and I have put it even to 10 threads but it keeps bugging the computer a lot when rendering. I can move the mouse for a bit thats it what is possible. I don't think there is something that ca...

Re: things to fix

I do that with the pointiness node, I understand how it works. I often work with octane and other engines but for some reason this just doesn't work as nice as it should. The update thingy is something I don't understand, I had some interiors and when I selected a region in the ipr it just didnt unp...

things to fix

Hey there, I have some requests for you... :D I have almost finished a job and ran into several issues with cycles, so I will share these with you for feedback purpose only. -real-time preview is to slow compared to other engines, even in blender it is much faster. -render region could work better i...

cycles occupies my whole computer

Hey there, Since I have paid another fee for the maintenance I would start with a request I had earlier already. When rendering in cycles my whole computer is unable to do anything else. It is slow as fck. I understand fcuz but how to avoid it and where do I find these magic buttons... ps I want tha...

denoiser

Hey there,

I am rendering out an image sequence but I have to use the denoiser...it works ok for stills but is there something I can do about it moving around in an image sequence.
It doesn't look useable, I am doing some slow movements through architectural scenery.
Thanks

Re: archviz rendering

Hey Mario,

I have a 20 core 40 thread machine with 2gpu's(780ti and 1080ti), c4d r19
The scene itself is not that big data wise, is is mostly simple shapes with some good textures, 4k mostly.
But not that much.

Love to see it fixed fcuz:p

Re: archviz rendering

The suggestion up above helped a couple of times but it is happening all the time right now. And the suggestion doesn't always fix it. I hope the people working on the engine address this issue in the near future, It is not reliable for me right now. Also the pointiness option is great but lacks the...

Re: archviz rendering

Sorry for the spam but I am running into all kind of issues as we speak, its not bad, I learn the most now but thats why!
I have setup my render as gpu and the render buckets are set to 512/512, when I render it looks like the cpu is rendering..
So what is happening here?
