Okay I figured it out. You have to deactivate the subdivision in the cyCurve tag and then the xpTrailDeformer works fine :-)

And yes I have tried it and your trial file works fine, nothing wrong with the xpTrailDeformer and Cycles 4D, it must be something in my .c4d fie

Thanks! Okay then it means that my c4d / x-particles document has been corrupted. I will rebuild my X-particles set-up and then it should be fine :-)

Cycles 4D with xpTrailDeformer?

It looks like the xpTrailDeformer isn't functioning with cycles 4D. If so, how can I create the same look alike effect? I tried with xpTurbulence but I can't get the trail curling in the ame manner as the xpTrailDeformer does.

Okay, that explains the lower urgency update level and I am glad that everybody from release r.17 can use the take system to deal with this issue. Unfortunately I only have r.15. So I have to deal with that and probably have to wait for Blender cycles 2.8, in order to solve this issue in Blender cyc...

"As far as I know light groups are not supported by Cycles. They only work for Blender´s biased standard renderer similar to Cinema 4Ds. I think, I have figured it out myself and bake the intense light in the texture of the floor somehow and use only one light, to lighten the smoke and fire in an correct manner

Cycles 4d is a beautiful renderer, but I am very sorry to say that this "excluding light feature" is my biggest disappointment up to now and should have been added to cycles 4d a long time ago. Navigation problems in Node editor

I am testing with the demo version of Cycles 4D. Unfortunately I cannot navigate, pan or zoom while pressing "1" or "2" and moving my pen on my wacom tablet, as the manual says. So how do I pan and zoom around?
