Brightness issue new version. How can I fix this?

Post by jwzegelaar » Fri Jan 26, 2018 5:50 pm

Hi,

Since the latest update I got some weird issues with the brightness of my renders. Everything looks correct inside the Realtime Preview. But when submitting the job to the picture viewer it renders way brighter.

My first taught was linear workflow issues, but that is not it. Tried multiple about formats and 8 bit to 32 bit settings. Made no difference.

Why is this happening and how can I fix this?

Thanks!

These are very low res examples, the top is the picture viewer output. And the bottom one is the Cycles 4D real-time preview.

How can this happen?

once I changed the save to PSD 32 bit they matched.
make sure that the output is always 32 bit to match the RT preview., or if you have to use 8 bits, make sure that you set the image color profile to linear.

Also, just FYI, turning off Multi Pass fixes this regardless of your save settings. So if you don't need multiple passes it works fine

please report a bug :)
I'm sure they were matching (but I didn't test with multi pass), so I guess they don't match with multi pass on, which is a bug. (so in the future users get consistent result without having to set the buffer to linear).

How do I report bugs?
