Position pass and c4d passes in general render as black

Post by Protogon » Fri Apr 06, 2018 9:28 am

Hi, I'm trying to follow this tutorial https://greyscalegorilla.com/tutorials/ ... -is-wrong/ but all my renders come out without any information within the passes.

Depth pass through cycles comes out correctly but C4D's 'position', 'Motion Vector' or 'Depth' do not work.
32bit exr is my output.

Am I doing something wrong or just cycles ignores these channels?

Many Thanks

Hello Protogon ,

In Cycles4D you could use the following node setup to get the position pass .For the motion vector pass i recommend to use the standard cinema 4D render engine .

Hi Mostafa and thank you for your reply.

Where should I put this material to be seen by the renderer?

For the motion vector pass you suggest me to do a second render just to add motion blur in post?

I've seen that blender cycles does support this pass.
Will it be implemented in Cycles4d?

Hello Protogon,

You could drag and drop your material into the "Material " slot in the "material override" tab in render settings .Soon "Motion vector pass " will be available in Cycles4D .
