LOL it is as well, Repping the company you know how it is

But yeah I normally use octane to load my vdb files just thought it would be cool if cycles how it's own version of that

That is on our wishlist too! OVDB support is on the current Roadmap of Blender Cycles so there is a good chance that we see it implemented sooner or later.

Cheers,

I co-sign on this one so hard!
Actually, I almost wonder if this is more of a request for X-Particles. As X-Particles already has the XP-Domain, support for TurbulenceFD, X-Particles own flip solver, and I believe Explosia coming in 4. Plus they have the OpenVDB mesher coming as well.
If the Domain had a VDB loader that could pull in common VBD cashes form Houdini, Realflow, and the like, that would be huge (and a great selling point to but both items bundled).

Cycles already does a great job rendering these sims with the Volume Scatter and Absorption shaders.

Also, considering Cycles origins in Blender, I'd love to be able to pull in Blender's smoke and fire simulations as VDBs into Cinema 4D. Blender does allow you to cashe VDBs now.

Talking about x-particles, maybe there could be an easier path to have x-particles replace every vertex on a piece of geometry and turn that into a point cloud.

That would be good but it this is for cycles core, not x-particles.

Stil good idea though ^^
