Animated Noise

Post by der_flow » Sun Nov 27, 2016 1:07 pm

Hey there,

having an option to animate a Noise like with the standard Noise shaders would be really handy.

Cheers

which noise? I guess everything can be animated.

Best option is use the cinema noises in the image texture node and set the node to animate. Then you can use them as your used too.

hi,

I tried to do that on a sphere with the native voronoi noise from C4D, but the projection is bad... and I found no way to have a perfect "infinite" voronoi" on my sphere.... have you any idear ?

Cheers

To get infinite Voronoi you have to use Voronoi Texture inside Cycles.
You can get same results easily.

About C4D noise (not native to Cycles) usage through Image Texture: I think Cycles understands it as Image which is not seamless texture as you can see. Cycles tries to wrap it around your sphere exactly what it sees in image texture.

You can mix Cycles textures to achieve different noises (endless possibilities) then animate them.

Examples of Cycles Musgrave texture (advanced procedural noise texture):

Thanks Martin,

I was thinking there will be a closest solution of the animate C4D voronoi... but i will work in a different way ...

Thanks
